The Global Classroom 2025 has officially commenced this week in Bangkok, uniting students from the Global Campus of Human Rights to address one of the most pressing global issues of our time — the intersection of business, the environment, and human rights. Among the participants are five students from the Master of Arts in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) programme, proudly representing the Global Campus Central Asia.
Hosted by the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP) at Mahidol University, the 12th edition of Global Classroom (#GCAsiaPacific) brings together around 20 participants from the regional Master’s programmes across the world. The initiative provides a dynamic space for collaborative learning, research, and advocacy, focusing on how human rights principles can be effectively upheld in transnational business and environmental contexts.
In preparation for this event, participants have spent recent months developing academic and advocacy projects that tackle key human rights challenges across industries such as extractives, food production, technology, defence, and global supply chains. Their work has been guided by faculty members and experts from institutions including Amnesty International Thailand, the FIFA World Cup 2026, and the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre.
This week’s gathering in Bangkok marks the culmination of these efforts. Participants will engage in interactive dialogues, workshops, and field visits aimed at translating their research findings into concrete action for a more just and sustainable global economy.
The Global Campus Central Asia extends its best wishes to all participants and partners for a productive, inspiring, and impactful week in Bangkok.
🌿 Together, we advance human rights through education, collaboration, and action.
