OSCE Academy Faculty Members Participate in the 2026 SPECA Economic Forum
4–5 November 2026
On 4–5 November 2026, Faculty members of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, Zhyldyz Tegizbekova, Senior Lecturer in the MA in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) Programme, Global Campus Central Asia, and Burulcha Sulaimanova, Senior Lecturer in the MA in Economic Governance and Development Programme, participated in the 2026 SPECA Economic Forum, held in Bishkek under the theme “Advancing Connectivity for Sustainable Development in the SPECA Region.”
The Forum was organised within the framework of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), bringing together representatives of governments, international organisations, development partners, experts and other stakeholders from across the region.
The two-day Forum provided a platform for discussing regional economic cooperation and connectivity, with particular attention to sustainable transport and logistics, trade facilitation, e-commerce, digital connectivity, innovation, women’s entrepreneurship and sustainable infrastructure financing.
Participation in the Forum provided an opportunity for the OSCE Academy faculty members to engage with regional and international stakeholders, exchange perspectives on current developments in Central Asia, and strengthen the Academy’s engagement with policy discussions on sustainable development, regional cooperation and economic governance.
The OSCE Academy continues to contribute to regional dialogue by connecting academic expertise, policy research and educational activities with the evolving priorities of Central Asia.
