MAHRS Programme Director Dr. Anja Mihr to Speak at Global Webinar on Justice for Minorities

The South Asia Research Institute for Minorities (SARIM) will host an international webinar titled “Justice for the Margins: Advancing International Criminal Justice for Minority Communities” on 10 July 2025 at 1:00 PM (PKT) / 1:30 PM (IST) via Zoom.

Featured speaker Dr. Anja Mihr, Academic Director of the MA in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, will share insights on how international justice mechanisms can better protect minority communities. A leading expert in human rights and transitional justice, Dr. Mihr brings both academic and field-based experience to this timely discussion.

Also speaking at the event are:

  • Professor Cássius Guimarães Chai, Full Law and Geopolitics Professor, Universidade Federal do Maranhão and Faculdade de Direito de Vitória, Brazil;

  • Dr. M. Shahrukh Shahnawaz, Advocate at the High Court of Sindh and Visiting Faculty at the School of Law & International Relations, University of Karachi.

The webinar aims to create an interdisciplinary dialogue on how international legal frameworks can better serve the needs of minority populations facing persecution, discrimination, and injustice.
