Dr. Anja Mihr, Academic Director of the MA in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) programme, participated in the ‘Spirit of Helsinki’ conference commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Helsinki Accords. The high-level event was held at the historic Finlandia Hall, where the original Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) began in 1975.
Dr. Mihr contributed to the conference by reflecting on the role of the OSCE in times of political turmoil. She also highlighted the achievements and progress of the MAHRS programme, implemented at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek.
The ‘Spirit of Helsinki’ conference brought together diplomats, academics, and human rights advocates to assess the legacy of the Helsinki Final Act and its ongoing relevance in today’s rapidly changing geopolitical context.
