MAHRS Student Kristina Ryabova Wins 3rd Place at International Olympiad on Sustainable Development Goals

The OSCE Academy in Bishkek is proud to announce that Kristina Ryabova, a student of the MA in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) 2024–2026 cohort, has been awarded third place at the International Student Olympiad 2025 “Sustainable Development Goals in Central Asia, Mongolia and the South Caucasus”, organized by the Sustainable Learning for Understanding Nations (SLUN) project.

The competition attracted more than 500 applications from students across Central Asia, Mongolia, and the South Caucasus. Following an initial testing round, 60 candidates were shortlisted to submit their project proposals on sustainable development challenges and solutions in the region. Based on the quality, feasibility, and innovation of their proposals, only 18 finalists were invited to present their ideas in a pitch session held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Kristina’s outstanding proposal and impactful presentation earned her third place, showcasing the high academic standards and strong regional engagement fostered by the MAHRS programme.

We are also proud to share that MAHRS alumni, Pokiza Juraeva, was also selected as one of the 18 finalists, successfully pitching her project alongside regional peers. The participation of two MAHRS students in the final round reflects the programme’s continued commitment to equipping students with practical skills and critical thinking for advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the region.

The OSCE Academy congratulates Kristina and Pokiza for their remarkable achievements and for representing our programme with excellence on the international stage.
