MAHRS Student Navruz Erkaev Participates in the European Youth Event 2025

From June 13 to 14, Navruz Erkaev, a student of the MA in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) Class of 2026, participated in the European Youth Event (EYE) 2025 held at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.

The EYE gathered thousands of young people from across Europe and beyond, providing a unique opportunity to discuss, debate, and contribute to shaping the future of Europe. The event featured a rich and dynamic programme, including interactive debates, workshops, guided visits, artistic performances, and a wide range of activities both within the European Parliament and around the EYE Village.

One of the event’s highlights is the direct engagement it offers with Members of the European Parliament and other European decision-makers. Participants also had the chance to exchange ideas with leading experts, activists, and content creators.

Navruz attended a number of thought-provoking and inspiring sessions, including:

  • Defending Democracy and Human Rights

  • 10th Anniversary of the Youth, Peace and Security United Nations Resolution – What Now?

  • EU Enlargement and Youth

  • United Nations Security Council – Reform Needed?

Reflecting on the experience, Navruz shared that the event served as a powerful platform to connect with like-minded peers, engage with high-level professionals, and explore new avenues for collaboration to build a better future.

As a recognition of his active participation, Navruz received a certificate from the European Parliament’s Youth Outreach Unit.
