OSCE Academy Interim Director and MAHRS Academic Director Met German Ambassador to Uzbekistan

On 15 February 2025 Dr. Pal Dunay, OSCE Academy Interim Director, and Prof. Anja Mihr, Academic Director of the MA in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) Programme met the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan, H.E. Manfred Huterer, who has come to Kyrgyzstan on a private visit. Ambassador Huterer was interested to learn more about the regional work of the OSCE Academy and explore the potential development of further cooperation with regional think tanks, in particular those located in Uzbekistan. This could initiate the activities and produce the results that would allow to raise the awareness about Central Asia in Germany and the EU in general. From the OSCE Academy’s side Dr. Dunay and Prof. Mihr briefed the ambassador about the development of the OSCE Academy and expressed their interest in exploring more opportunities in Uzbekistan, specifically for students of the MAHRS Programme, but also in the other two MA Programmes. Unlike the Politics and Security and the Economic Governance and Development Programmes, the two other MA Programmes of the OSCE Academy from where students go for internship, the MAHRS Programme has a mobility term and it is implemented together with regional partner universities, including the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent that already hosts MAHRS students.

Germany has been one the OSCE Academy’s major donors for many years and a member of the Board of Trustees.
